Better late than never!  My cousin, Merry, got me interested in the whole Elf on a shelf phenomenon.  I love the idea of doing something for Christmas every day in December.

Yesterday I was in Hallmark because I had a coupon, and I ran across Everett the Elf and his Magical Shoe.  Everett lost his shoe while helping Santa, and the shoe will leave ‘elf magic’ fun every day in December until Christmas.  A tiny Everett sits in the shoe, and there is room to put a note and supplies for a craft or other things for an adventure.  I’ve heard you can’t buy them anymore, but I’ve posted his story here!

Yesterday’s adventure was mainly searching for the shoe, but we also made a Buzz Lightyear cut-out.  I imagine we’ll have plenty of simple adventures like that one, but hopefully we’ll have some really exciting ones as well!  I can’t wait for Everett to come out again this year – we had so much fun with him last year!  We went to go see Christmas lights, made cupcakes, and did lots of other fun things.  It’s a great way to keep the Christmas Spirit alive through the whole month!

What are some of your favorite Christmas Traditions?

  1. I’ve been calling all over trying to find this item at a Hallmark store but no one has it. I guess it was carried in 2010 only. So I was wondering is the story long? Anything special about the story I should know? I’m thinking I’ll make up my own story and buy an elf bootie from a craft store. Thank you 🙂

    1. The story was about him helping Santa and he lost his shoe – when we pull the Christmas stuff down I’ll post it! There are some cute things here as well –
Not the same, but a cute idea as well!

Santa allows his Elves to visit so they can encourage an upbeat Christmas, animated through nightly adventures and daily play, to help children create memories, have “good old-fashioned” fun, and reinforce the true meaning of Christmas and family values. A visit from one of Santa’s Elf Magic Elves will bring the wonder, magic, and meaning back into Christmas!
