Some companies embrace the spirit of yoga – one of those is Sibu. Sibu transforms Himalayan-harvested super fruit into powerful, nutrient-rich health and beauty products. While doing this, they create work and fair pay opportunities for the women in the area who harvest the sea buckthorn. This money helps sustain their families through the harsh winters.
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, who lives near the main harvest site met with Sibu’s co-founder to express his gratitude for what they are doing and called it a “blessed effort”. You can find out more about their meeting at Sibu’s blog.
So what is sea buckthorn? Sea buckthorn grows wild in the high altitude of Tibet. For over 28 centuries it has been used to soothe damaged skin and heal wounds. In addition to having over 190 bioactive nutrients, it is loaded with Omega fatty acids 3, 6, 7, and 9.
I was given a chance to try a couple of their products. The sea buckthorn liquid supplement (revitalize and renew) is a great way to start the morning. It’s a bright orange juice, and you only need 1-3 ounces daily. I typically drink 1 ounce when I first wake up in the morning. It tastes wonderful – like a very tangy orange juice, and I found myself craving it after taking it a few mornings. It contains no preservatives and no artificial sweeteners, and is a great way to start the morning!
I’ve started to get fine lines around my eyes, so I was more than happy to try the sea buckthorn age defying eye cream. I have very sensitive eyes, and the cream doesn’t make my eyes water or irritate them in any way. My eyes definitely feel refreshed after using the cream, and I think the fine lines seem to be fading some.
Overall, I think these are great products and an amazing company that I would HIGHLY recommend!
