Little Miss has a birthday coming up in October, so of course I’ve already been on the lookout for gifts! We try every year to focus on unique gifts that she’ll treasure over time. So when I saw the books from I See Me! I was so excited!
I’ve seen personalized books before that didn’t impress me very much. They were cheesy, or totally generic. These books are nothing like that – you can look through each book before choosing one to see which one suits you best. I chose the My Very Own Fairy Tale Book because Little Miss loves fairies.
In this one, the fairies crown a princess. To determine her name, individual fairies bring the letters one by one. Each fairy represents a flower or berry, which I loved – what a great thing to talk about with your child! At the end of the book they have several pages that list all of the fairies along with a brief fact about the flower or berry. Most letters have at least two fairies, many have more – so if letters repeat in your child’s name you don’t have to worry about them getting the same page over again. The illustrations are absolutely stunning.
I learned so much from the fairies in the back of the book! Did you know that there is a thimbleberry? How about tayberries from Scotland? How about the Inula, which the Chinese dry and use as cough medicine?
On top of all this, the book is very well-made. The pages are nice and thick, and it’s a hardback book. Little Miss will feel like a Princess when she gets this for her birthday, and I couldn’t be more pleased!
No matter what your child is into, they have a special book just for them. Pirates, fairies, forest animals, Big Brother/Sister, Religious – there are so many choices! They even have floor puzzles! This really sounds great! My three year old niece has a birthday coming up, and I think I’ll get this for her. I am sure she would love it, and her mom appreciates gifts that are educational (and ideally not battery operated). This is perfect!
