I love guacamole. It is up there on my favorite food list! For a long time, I always made it myself. However, about two years ago I started buying Wholly Guacamole. I don’t think I’ve made my own since discovering them! There is no need to – they have a short and simple ingredient list (just the things you would put in guacamole yourself), it’s a lot less work, and for me it actually is less expensive!
However, I had no idea how many different types of guacamole they made! My new favorite is the Guaca Salsa – Guacamole combined with a tomatillo salsa, delicious! I’m also loving the Double Dip – Guacamole topped with a layer of spicy pico. Talk about yummy! The 100 calorie snack packs are great for people like me. I’m the only one in my house who eats guacamole, so the snack packs keep everything fresh! It also keeps you from eating the whole bag of guacamole in one sitting, which is easy to do!
Did you know that Wholly Guacamole also makes salsa? Just like their guacamole, it’s made with fresh ingredients just like the way you would make it yourself. It comes in mild, medium, and hot. I’ve been enjoying the medium salsa on just about everything! Salsa is great because you can eat as much of it as you want without feeling guilty.
If that isn’t enough, they make cheese dip as well. However, I do want to point out that the cheese dip has chicken fat in it. My husband said that’s what made it taste so good! He is really enjoying the cheese dip and thinks it tastes great.
Here is an easy recipe that uses the salsa and quacamole:
Mexican Quinoa Salad
- 1 C quinoa
- 1.5 C water
- 1 C salsa
- 1 bag fresh veggies of your choice
- Guacamole for topping
- Cook quinoa in steamer. If you don’t have a steamer, boil water. Lower heat and add quinoa, cooking until water is absorbed – about 15-20 minutes.
- Steam veggies in bag in microwave, or in a steamer.
- Combine veggies, quinoa, and salsa. (Or do what I did and just combine the quinoa and veggies, then top with salsa.)
- Top individual servings with your favorites guacamole. This can be served warm or cold.
