As you know, Little Miss and I are big fans of yoga.  I love having an activity I can use to connect with her!  Storyland Yoga is a great DVD from Playful Planet that combines storytelling with yoga for kids.  The goal of Playful Planet is to “Empowering Kids and Their Families to Be Healthy and Live Sustainably”, and it really shows!  The DVD even comes in a 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard sleeve.

Ahmed Fahmy takes us on two fun-filled adventures, Save the Whale and Condor Trek.  Not only will you learn some yoga poses, but you’ll also learn about protecting animals.  Ahmed is a wonderful storyteller, and I think I enjoyed the stories almost as much as Little Miss did.

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s refreshing to see a DVD that isn’t running from one thing to the next and doesn’t depend on cartoons to keep your children engaged.  Since there is a story that goes along with the yoga, Little Miss didn’t get distracted.  She actually watched both episodes in one sitting!

But by watched, I don’t mean sat on the couch and vegged.  We were up moving around the entire time!  This DVD will engage your child mentally and physically – perfect for rainy afternoons or bored children!  Little Miss enjoyed the Save the Whale episode the most.  I think it’s because it had dolphins in it, and she loves dolphins!
