Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!

This morning I braved the cold and wind to join hundreds of others in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.  This is the third year that they have had it in Pensacola, and my first year participating.  It was so much fun, and I loved seeing all of the great creative pink outfits!

This is my friend Laura, a breast cancer survivor, and her godson and his sister.  He was a popular guy at the walk, everyone wanted their photo taken with him!

I loved these shirts that a group of guys were wearing!

There were tons of signs all over the place showing support.

Finally we started through the arches – can you tell it was super-windy?  Once we got walking, it wasn’t quite as bad.

Here is a view of some of the crowd as we were walking.  It was an out and back route, which is my least favorite because it leads to a lot of bottle-necking, but we still had fun!

I was so proud of my friend Laura – she raised almost $1,000!

I got to wear this great shirt from Original Cowgirl to the walk!  Go check them out, they have some awesome stuff!

I love that Pensacola supports such a great cause so well!  For those of you who aren’t in Pensacola, this photo is of Graffiti Bridge – a place where graffiti is “allowed” year round.  It always ends up pink at least once in October!

  1. A very worthy cause indeed. I pray for the day when a cure for breast cancer and all cancers will be found. It is good that your friend Laura is a survivor and doing well. I have known some persons who have lived long lives after suffering from this disease. Take care and all the best to you.
