I’ve always loved the IDEA of scrapbooking, but I never got into it for several reasons. A big one is that it requires purchasing a lot of stuff before you can make anything really beautiful with it. Another reason is that I’m just really not that crafty. I used to be, but somewhere along the way I just lost my craftiness. I need to find it again soon for my daughter’s sake!
Scrapbooking on the computer? That I can handle! I’ve had so much fun playing with My Memories Suite over the past few weeks. I love that they give you so many options. Want to just drag photos into a pre-made template? No problem! They have whole books you can make using this method. I made this page in about one minute this morning.
Feeling more creative? They have you covered for that too! You can easily create your own page layer by later for a totally custom look.
This was the first thing I ever made with the software – not too bad! It comes with a ton of different backgrounds and designs, but of course they sell even more, so you’ll never be bored! You’ll want to be sure to sign up for their newsletter and like them on facebook because they sometimes give out freebies there too. Speaking of facebook, I was able to make a cool picture for my timeline using My Memories software!
You can also add video, music, and narration using the software. I imagine next year people will be getting a custom slideshow from me – what a great way to share with family and good friends who don’t live nearby! You can also turn your scrapbook into a DVD, interactive presentation, or send it to your iPod!
The software comes with a ton of options, and you can buy even more if you’d like. Additionally, you get a $10 credit for additional “supplies” when you buy the software! Not to mention all of the freebies you’ll get from their facebook pages and newletters. Even if you don’t spend additional money I think you’ll find plenty to keep you busy – I know I have! It seems as though every time I pull it up I find something new.

I’ve really enjoyed this software the short time I’ve gotten to use it, and I think I’ll continue to use it more and more! It’s also green since you don’t have to print anything out if you don’t want to.

I’m hoping it helps me! If I can just do one or two pages a month, I’d have a great book by the end of the year! I also like the idea of being able to make the pages while they’re still fresh on your mind.
It should definitely help with doing a slideshow – I haven’t tried anything like that yet, but I’m guessing they have great customer support since the person coordinating the review always gets back to me promptly!
