It’s May! And for many of us that means the start of grilling and cookout season. Good food is great all year round, but there is just something about the warm weather that says bring on the steaks! I am sure you like to check out recipes shared by your favorite bloggers, so we thought we’d share some yummy prizes with you! Now that the weather is getting warmer, we’re entering entertaining season here in the Panhandle! Although we don’t do it nearly as often as we used to, we love having people over, especially when the weather is nice. When you entertain a lot, it’s nice to have some great serving pieces. It’s also great when these pieces are versatile! Core Bamboo has some great pieces that not only look great, but are functional as well.
I’m looking forward to trying out the Revolving 5 Part Entertainment Set when it gets here! I like how it’s divided into five separate sections, so when you’re entertaining you can take a section away to refill or clean it. My friends will love the revolving feature, so people can enjoy food from all of the sections without reaching. The combination of bamboo and ceramic should be very easy to care for, and looks great!
It got here – and I couldn’t be more pleased! They also sent some beautiful crushed bamboo servers which will be great for salads or pasta dishes. They have a great weight to them, and are so unique! I love the entertainment set too – I know we’ll get lots of use out of it this summer!
Bamboo is one of the most remarkable resources on Earth. As a member of the grass family, not a tree, it grows at a much quicker rate than any other wood. From start to harvest (60-70 feet tall) it can take just four years. Bamboo is naturally anti-microbial, therefore stopping bacteria from growing. What is probably most remarkable is its unique extensive root system. When bamboo is harvested its natural root system spreads and automatically regenerates itself. I can vouch for that – we have a lot of bamboo in our backyard! I need to learn how to make things with it!
Virtually all of the bamboo Core Bamboo harvests is used in their process. When they harvest the bamboo stalks at 70 feet, it is cut up and divided into different production materials. The bottom section is primarily used for flooring and building materials. This is usually the toughest and hardest pieces to bend. The middle section is used to make lovely handcrafted products ranging from boards to bowls and everything in between. The top section is used for smaller thinner items such as chop sticks, and accessory items. Even the saw dust created during the cutting is collected and mixed in with other materials to create a concrete like substance used for building and fixing a variety of items. It’s amazing how they use everything!
