I love it when I find a laundry soap I like. It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that I had to choose between detergents that actually got my clothes clean and detergents that didn’t irritate my skin. Fortunately for me, those days are over! There are a ton of great unscented, natural detergents that clean without leaving you clothes full of irritating chemicals.
I tried the Ecover Laundry Powder Zero. Instead of using fragrances, optical brighteners, or phosphates, it uses plant-based and mineral cleaners to get you clothes looking their best. It’s suitable for all whites and colorfast laundry. We only wash large loads, and it suggests ½ C of detergent for those, which is a little more than some of the other environmentally friendly brands. I think this is because it has some sort of sudsing agent, since it suds up like conventional powders do.
One box is enough for 20 loads, which comes out to about 70 cents a load at Amazon, which isn’t too bad. Of course, if you do smaller loads it will last longer. Be sure to check them out on Facebook as well to find out about their entire range of products and to get green tips!
