In today’s world, we know that it’s important to give our children every advantage we can when they are young to help them succeed – I know that in first grade my daughter is learning so much more than I ever did at that age!
If your child is anything like our daughter, they love playing on the computer – so if we can find things that make learning fun, then it’s a win for everyone! Brainzy from Education.com let me review their new website just for children age 3-7. It was a hit with our daughter!
Brainzy builds reading and math skills with games, songs, and activities that are based on the common core standards. Guided by a lovable cast of original characters, kids cover a year’s worth of learning as they play through more than 300 fun games, 50 songs and videos, and 50 read-along stories. Since my daughter has to do a reading list each month, these read-along stories come in helpful to supplement the books we have at home! One subscription gets you access for up to three children, and it can be accessed from iPads, laptops, or desktop computers.
Reading games include alphabet games, phonics games, and sight word games and videos like “Alphabet Demolition Bingo” and “Short E Rap.” Math games build skills in counting, number recognition, shapes, and addition/subtraction through games and videos like “Subtraction Ski Race” and “Stacking Up the Ice Cream.”
I like that I can let my daughter play on Brainzy without any worries – and the program automatically tracks the progress that she is making. She likes the independence of being able to have free reign over the site. My only wish is that we had been able to get started on the site when she was even younger! I think that a younger child would get even more benefit from everything offered on the site – it’s the perfect way to get ready for preschool!
Currently, Amazon local has a great deal which lets you get one or two years at half price! This deal is only good for nine days though! Additionally, one of my readers will win a one year subscription to Brainzy!
